Why do preteens do yoga? šŸ¤”

At first, you think it’s for ā€œmindfulnessā€ and ā€œflexibility.ā€

Cute. Adorable. Very wholesome.

But let’s be honest:

šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø It’s mostly because they can finally sit on the floor in weird positions without their knees sounding like microwave popcorn.

šŸ§˜ā€ā™‚ļø It’s the only place where falling over is called ā€œexploring your balanceā€ instead of ā€œbeing dramatic.ā€

🧘 It gives them a valid reason to lie down in silence and ignore everyone. (A life skill, honestly.)

šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø They love saying things like ā€œI’m aligning my chakrasā€ when really they just don’t want to tidy their room.

šŸ§˜ā€ā™‚ļø Also: handstands. Endless handstands. Against every available wall in the house.

Meanwhile, the instructor is saying:

ā€œRelease all tensionā€¦ā€

…and the parents are in the corner like:

ā€œCan you release it at HOME too??ā€

But hey — if yoga keeps them calm for even 7 minutes, that’s basically a miracle. Namaste… and please put your socks in the laundry basket. šŸ™
